The Robtics Robson-250 is a high quality mechanically built Dobsonian Telescope with high quality optics offering amazing views of the night sky. With 10 inch aperture and 1250mm focal length the Robson-250 gathers 55% more light than an 8 inch telescope. The Robson-250 is a perfect telescope for deepsky and planetary observing!

250 mm aperture is capable of showing lots of details on planets, thousands of craters on the moon and details in galaxies and globular clusters. A 10 inch dobsonian telescope is arguably the best and most useful large telescope for stargazing. It is not too small optically and it is not too big physically. It is also the best bang for your buck. All of your budget goes into the optics and mechanics in stead of expensive computerized goto systems.

The Robson-250 dobsonian telescope basically has two parts. The telescope with the optics (Optical Tube) and the bottom part (Rocker Box) that is used to move and hold the telescope in any position you choose to look at. Both parts are equally important. If you have a very good telescope but the rocker box is not capable of handling the weight causing the telescope to vibrate and wobble as you use it, will render the images blurry. Likewise if you have a good rocker box and the telescope is not capable of producing sharp images your views will disappoint. Fortunately the Robtics Robson-250 offers both a great telescope and a great rocker box to offer you a pleasant observing experience!

Optical tube
All components of the telescope are manufactured using high quality materials to make sure you'll have many years of observing fun with your new telescope!

High Quality Primary Mirror
The Robson-250 has a parabolic primary mirror made of BK7 glass with 95% reflective coating. With 10 inch aperture and 1250mm focal length the Robson-250 gathers 55% more light than an 8 inch telescope. The mirror's center mark makes collimation with a laser collimator super easy!

High Quality Primary Mirror Cell with Collimation Screws
Speaking of collimation, the Robson-250 holds collimation very well because of the heavy-duty mirror cell combined with three collimation screws and three extra collimation lock-screws.

High Quality Secondary Mirror
The secondary mirror is also made of BK7 glass and also has 95% reflective coating. Central obstruction caused by the secondary mirror is only 25% contributing to a high contrast image.

Sturdy Secondary Mirror Spider
The secondary mirror holder and spiders are made from metal and very sturdy making sure that collimation is very stable. Collimation is achieved with allen wrench keys and Robtics advises to upgrade these to Bob's Knobs for easy no-tool collimation.

Dual Speed Focuser
The Crayford style focuser has a load capacity of around 3kg. It runs very smoothly and friction can be adjusted to taste. The focuser comes with a 10:1 reduction providing very fine, ultra precise focusing for crisp images. The 2 inch focuser can hold 2 inch accessories. 1.25 inch accessories can also be used with the included reducing adapter. The focuser and the adapter have an internal compression ring for a very firm grip of your accessories. Extra large knobs with knurling are used to make tightening/loosening even with cold fingers extra easy.

Primary Mirror Fan for Rapid Mirror Cool Down
Warm telescope optics produce terrible images. Robtics advises to bring the telescope out some time before you start observing giving the mirrors time to cool down to ambient temperature. The fan at the back of the telescope blows outside air onto the telescope's primary mirror significantly speeding up the cooling process. More time to observe!

Rocker Box
All components of the rocker box are manufactured using high quality materials to make sure you'll have many years of observing fun with your new telescope!

Metal Altitude Bearings with Friction Adjustment
High quality metal bearings provide a sturdy and smooth altitude axis. The amount of friction can be adjusted to taste with the turn of a knob especially useful when the telescope is out of balance when changing eyepieces.

Balancing System
The telescope tube can be moved up and down inside the altitude bearing system. This makes it possible to balance the telescope with whatever accessories are used with the telescope. Heavy eyepieces make the telescope top-heavy causing all sorts of problems in other dobsonian systems. The Robson-250 has an easy fix with the balancing system.

Azimuth Needle Bearings with Friction Adjustment
A huge roller bearing sandwiched between two metal plates makes azimuth adjustments ultra smooth. A large knob placed central inside the rocker box is used for friction adjustment. If the knob is loosened and the telescope is giving a firm push, it will spin many rotations without any problem.

Accessory Tray
The accessory tray located at the side of the rocker box provides easy storage for accessories. Always have your eyepieces within reach.

Heavy Duty Rubber Feet
Three high quality rubber feet makes sure that the Robson is always rock steady no matter what terrain it is placed on.

Easy Carry Handle
Transportation of the Robson-250 rocker box is easy. Just grab it at the easy carry handle and off you go!

Accessories
The Robtics-250 comes with high quality accessories. Unpack, assemble, observe!

8X50 Finder Scope
The fully adjustable finder scope with integrated cross hairs make finding objects easy. 50mm aperture provides enough light and eight times enough magnification to actually see the object you are looking for instead of guessing the location through a red dot finder.

30mm Erfle Wide Angle Eyepiece
The 30mm 2 inch 70 degree eyepiece is used for low magnifications. This eyepiece provides a large field of view of the sky and is ideal for star hopping when locating objects.

9mm Super Plossl Eyepiece
The 9mm 1.25 inch eyepiece provides a smaller field of view of the sky and a higher magnification and is perfect for observing objects in greater detail.

35mm extension tube
For maximum usability the Robson-250 has an extended back focus and the included extension tube makes sure you can reach focus with all your favorite eyepieces. The 2 inch extension tube with an optical length of 35mm has an internal compression ring for a very firm grip of your accessories.

Battery Holder
The included battery holder accepts four AA-type batteries and powers the primary mirror fan.

The Robson-250 is packaged really well in two boxes. One containing the telescope and accessories and one box containing the rocker box. The rocker box needs to be assembled and the tools needed for this are included. The instruction manual for assembly can be downloaded from the Robson-250 product page on the Robtics website.
