The miniCAM5S is intended to be a high value, multipurpose camera which supporting deep space, and planetary imaging. The camera uses a high QE 1.2mega pixel 1/3inch 1280*960 CMOS sensor. The mono version has a QE of 75% and the color version 62%. MiniCAM5S has 30fps high speed output at the full 1280*960 resolution and 200fps at 320*240, making it a great planetary camera. It has a professional two stages TEC and temperature regular which can cool the image sensor down to -40C below ambient making it an ideal deep space camera.It also has the extremely low readout noise to 2e- .The high speed, high QE, cooling system make the camera ideal for both deep space and planetary imaging along with many scientific applications.
miniCAM5S has an industry 5 PIN standard guide port (Common, RA+,RA-,DEC+,DEC-) . QHYCCD is the first manufactory that using the expensive lemo style connector. The benefit of such connector is the solid connection between camera and other device. In hardware miniCAM5S support on-camera guiding with 12bit image output. (QHY5L-II support 12bit image output but the on-camera guide port can not work at 12bit mode because of the guide port of QHY5L-II is multiplexing on the data bus of low 4 bit) .
miniCAM5S has full feature of the anti-moisture. It has build-in heat board to avoid the CMOS chamber window get moisture and has the silicon gel tube to dry the CMOS chamber when necessary.
miniCAM5S is a dedicate cooled camera with high QE.It has both color version and mono version. If you want to choose a cheap affortable cooled camera
