If you think a cooled camera with a built-in motor-driven filter wheel is expensive, then think again! QHYCCD is proud to release the miniCAM5F, a highly-sensitive, cooled-CMOS camera with a built-in nine-position motor-driven filter wheel . This feature-rich camera includes a regulated dual-stage TEC that can cool the sensor down by -38C(*) below ambient. The sensor has 74% high QE, 1280x960, 1.2mega pixels, and is capable of capturing at 1280x960@30FPS and 320x240@200FPS with extremely low readout noise down to 2 electrons. You can install the L, R, G, B, Ha, OIII, SII, CH4 and a black filter (for dark frame capture) together on the filter wheel.
Another great benefit is that you can get these filters very inexpensively. Astronomy filters are usually a huge expense for monochrome cameras, especially when collecting the entire set. Often, you may spend more than USD1000 for a set of 1.25inch L, R, G, B, Ha, OIII, SII filters. However, since the miniCAM5F utilizes our smaller, QHYCCD-defined 12mm mini filter size, you'll save a lot. The miniCAM5F can be bundled with L, R, G, B filters, as well as the optional Ha, OIII, SII, Hbeta and CH4 filters for just 65 euro each. We believe these filters will be a lot of fun to play with, not only for your planetary imaging but also for capturing your favorite DSOs!
(*) Note: Delta T has changed from -45C to -38C (November, 2015).
miniCAM5F has a 74% high-QE, 1.2mega pixel CMOS sensor, very suitable for capturing smaller objects like planetary nebulae, small galaxies and globular clusters. If you have a short focal length OTA, it is also ideal for big, diffused nebulae. The miniCAM5F is a really mini camera, so it is excellent for building a compact imaging system.
The camera has full anti-moisture features, utilizing a built-in heater board to prevent moisture from forming on the CMOS chamber window, as well as the option to insert bundled silica gel tubes into the CMOS chamber when necessary.
Producing affordable, multi-purpose and high-quality cameras has been our goal. QHYCCD hopes this camera will pleasantly surprise you during your astrophotography sessions.
