For payloads heavier than about 8kg respectively 13 kg, the ZWO AM3 and ZWO AM5 Equatorial Mount requires a counterweight shaft like this 230 mm long ZWO Bar, as well as a separately available counterweight in order to achieve proper balance.
Made of solid metal resistant to oxidation, this counterweight bar contains M12x1.75 screw threads and will work with any mount that has these threads.
Installation Guide
- Loosen the screw located at the bottom of the mount by rotating it counterclockwise
- Connect the counterweight bar to the mount
- Connect the counterweight to the counterweight bar
