Takahashi 1/10th Wave Accuracy 2" Compression Ring Mirror Diagonal w/1.25" Adapter,

This 2" first surface mirror diagonal has a guaranteed 1/10th wave surface accuracy for high contrast/highly detailed images, particularly of small lunar and planetary features. It uses enhanced aluminum mirror coatings for a high reflectivity in the 95-96% range. It can be used with any brand of refractor having a 2" focuser and a minimum of 4.2" of back focus (the length of the light path through the diagonal) .

The diagonal can be used on the Takahashi FSQ-106 refractor by removing the diagonal 2" chrome barrel and replacing it with aTakahashi adapter ring to accommodate the short back focus of the FSQ-106. The diagonal can also be used on Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes by adding SCT to 2 inch insert adapter.

The diagonal uses a telescopes precision-polished elliptical diagonal mirror with a 40mm m.a., rather than the more-economical rectangular mirror used on other diagonals. Small safety stops are provided at the bottom of the 2" eyepiece holder tube to prevent 2" eyepieces or 2" Barlows from hitting the surface of the mirror. The mirror housing is machined from solid aluminum. The interior of the 2" chrome barrel that fits into the focuser or visual back is painted matte black and is internally antireflection threaded for higher contrast. It is also threaded to accept standard 2" (48mm) filters. There is a machined safety groove cut into the chrome barrel which engages your telescopes focuser thumbscrew to help keep the diagonal from falling to the ground should the thumbscrew accidentally loosen during use.

A supplied 1.25" adapter slips into the 2" eyepiece holder tube of the diagonal to allow the use of 1.25" eyepieces. Knurled thumbscrews hold eyepieces and the 1.25" adapter securely in place. Dust covers are provided for both sides of the diagonal
